The Berlin-born artist has been a key figure in Berlin’s club culture since the 1990s and has actively accompanied and shaped the electronic music scene from its early beginnings. Driven by a strong desire for musical freedom, she early on moved beyond fixed genre boundaries and conventional structures. In doing so, she developed her unmistakable style: multifaceted, deep, and constantly evolving.
Her DJ sets blend a wide range of influences into a distinctive and recognisable sonic identity that has been appreciated for many years both in Berlin and across Europe’s club scene.

Die in Ost-Berlin geborene DJ, Produzentin und Musikerin Eva Be entdeckte schon früh ihre Leidenschaft für Musik. 1995 tauchte sie in die aufblühende Berliner Clubszene ein – zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort. Im legendären Delicious Doughnuts in Berlin-Mitte begegnete sie den späteren Mitgliedern von Jazzanova, die ihren musikalischen Weg entscheidend prägten.
An eine Karriere als DJ hatte sie ursprünglich nie gedacht. Doch Menschen, die von ihrem musikalischen Gespür überzeugt waren, ermutigten sie, selbst hinter die Plattenspieler zu treten. Ihre erste Residency folgte kurz darauf und schnell entwickelte sie ihren unverwechselbaren Stil aus Dub, Trip-Hop, Breakbeat, Drum'n'Bass und experimenteller Elektronik und spielte bald regelmäßig in Berliner Institutionen wie Cookies, WMF, Boogaloo, Kurvenstar, Café Moskau u.v.m.
Aus dem kreativen Netzwerk rund um Jazzanova, Dixon, Âme, Micatone, Slope und viele weitere Künstler entstand das stilprägende Sonar Kollektiv, auf dessen Label Eva Be 2002 ihre Debüt-EP "Below" veröffentlichte. Es folgten weitere Releases wie "Eve's Time Tonite" mit Joe Dukie (Fat Freddy's Drop), "Allee Virée" sowie zahlreiche Remixe.
Die enge musikalische Verbindung zur aufstrebenden Wiener Szene führte sie regelmäßig nach Österreich und in weitere europäische Metropolen. Als Resident-DJ im jungen Watergate spielte sie gemeinsam mit Künstlern wie Kid Loco, Kruder & Dorfmeister, King Britt und Rainer Trüby. Parallel tourte sie mit der Berliner Band Ye:Solar durch Europa und war Support-DJ für Acts wie Fat Freddy's Drop, Little Dragon, Omar und Jamie Lidell.
Mit ihrem ersten Album "Moving Without Traveling" setzte Eva Be ein starkes musikalisches Statement. Das Werk vereint Dub, Reggae und elektronische Musik zu einem eigenständigen Sound und brachte ihr internationale Aufmerksamkeit ein. Das britische Jazzmagazin Straight No Chaser bezeichnete sie als "Berlin's Rising Star". Im Anschluss gründete sie die Live-Band Eva and the Be's, mit der sie europaweit auf Tour ging – unter anderem als Support für The Black Seeds aus Neuseeland.
Nach einer Babypause im Jahr 2007 kehrte Eva Be 2008 auf die Bühne zurück und widmete sich verstärkt House Music. Neben Remixen für Sonar Kollektiv sowie Künstler wie Maertini Broes, Markus Enochson, Recloose, Horace Andy, Giorgio Moroder, Jah Wobble veröffentlichte sie gemeinsam mit Sänger Ben Ivory mehrere Singles, darunter "Closer" auf Poesie Music Get Physical.
Als gefragte DJ spielt sie in renommierten Clubs wie Panoramabar, ://about blank, Watergate, Wilde Renate, Kater Holzig, Heideglühen, Gretchen und Tresor. Dort lernte sie 2013 DJ Cle kennen. Aus ihrer gemeinsamen Leidenschaft für Underground House und Dub entstand das Projekt LoYoTo . Die ersten Veröffentlichungen erschienen auf Upon You Records, Watergate Records und Foul & Sunk. Mit ihrem charakteristischen Sound machten sich LoYoTo zudem als gefragtes Remix-Duo einen Namen und etablierten sich als feste Größe der Berliner Clublandschaft unteranderem auch mit einer eigenen Veranstaltungsreihe ihrem Musiklabel LYTRecordings sowie einer eigenen Mode Kollektion. Ein Projekt was ihr auch seit Anfang der 2000er am Herzen liegt, ist ihr Dj Duo Bader & Bernhard zusammen mit Dj Kollegin Clarice.
Parallel fand Eva Be neue Inspiration für ihre Soloarbeit. Das Ergebnis war die kompromisslose EP "Belight", erschienen auf Poker Flat Recordings – ein konzentriertes musikalisches Destillat aus fast zwei Jahrzehnten künstlerischer Erfahrung, was sich mehrere Wochen auf Platz Eins der deutschen Clubcharts hielt.
Bis heute steht Eva Be für musikalische Offenheit, stilistische Tiefe und eine außergewöhnliche Verbindung von Dub, House, Breaks&Beats und elektronischer Clubmusik. Mit ihrer langjährigen Erfahrung als DJ, Produzentin und Live-Künstlerin zählt sie zu den prägenden Persönlichkeiten der Berliner Clubszene.
Eva Be - biography
Born in East Berlin, DJ, producer and musician Eva Be discovered her passion for music at an early age. In 1995, she immersed herself in Berlin's rapidly evolving club scene at exactly the right moment. At the legendary Delicious Doughnuts record store in Berlin-Mitte, she met the future members of Jazzanova, whose musical vision would have a lasting influence on her artistic journey.
A career as a DJ had never been part of her original plan. Encouraged by friends who recognized her exceptional musical instinct, she eventually stepped behind the decks herself. Shortly afterwards, she secured her first residency, where she developed her distinctive sound, blending dub, trip-hop, breakbeat, drum & bass and experimental electronica. Before long, she was a regular behind the decks at some of Berlin's most influential venues, including Cookies, WMF, Boogaloo, Café Moskau and many more.
From the creative network surrounding Jazzanova, Dixon, Âme, Micatone, Slope and many others, the groundbreaking Sonar Kollektiv collective emerged. In 2002, Eva Be released her debut EP Below on the label, followed by Eve's Time Tonite featuring Joe Dukie (Fat Freddy's Drop), Allee Virée, and numerous remixes.
Her close connection with Vienna's emerging electronic music scene led to regular performances in Austria and across Europe. As a resident DJ at the newly established Watergate in Berlin, she shared line-ups with artists such as Kid Loco, Kruder & Dorfmeister, King Britt and Rainer Trüby. At the same time, she toured Europe with the Berlin-based band Ye:Solar and appeared as support DJ for Fat Freddy's Drop, Little Dragon, Omar and Jamie Lidell.
Her debut album Moving Without Traveling marked a defining moment in her career. Blending dub, reggae and electronic music into a sound uniquely her own, the album received international acclaim. The British jazz magazine Straight No Chaser hailed her as "Berlin's Rising Star." Soon afterwards, she founded the live project Eva and the Be's, touring extensively across Europe, including support tours with Fat Freddy's Drop and The Black Seeds.
Following a break after the birth of her child in 2007, Eva returned to the stage in 2008 with a renewed focus on house music. Alongside remixes for Sonar Kollektiv and artists including Maertini Broes, Markus Enochson, Recloose, Horace Andy, Giorgio Moroder and Jah Wobble, she released several singles with vocalist Ben Ivory, including Closer on Poesie Music / Get Physical.
As an established DJ, Eva became a regular guest at some of Berlin's most respected clubs, including Panorama Bar, ://about blank, Watergate, Wilde Renate, Kater Holzig, Heideglühen, Gretchen and Tresor. In 2013, she met DJ Cle, and together they founded LoYoTo, a collaboration born from their shared passion for underground house and dub. Their releases appeared on Upon You Records, Watergate Records and Foul & Sunk, while their distinctive productions and remixes established LoYoTo as a respected name within Berlin's underground electronic scene. The duo also launched their own event series, record label LYTRecordings, and a clothing line. One project that has been particularly close to their hearts since the early 2000s is their DJ duo, Bader & Bernhard, which they founded together with fellow DJ Clarice.
Alongside the project, Eva Be returned to her solo work with the uncompromising EP Belight, released on Poker Flat Recordings—a distilled expression of nearly two decades of musical exploration and artistic experience.
Today, Eva Be continues to represent a unique fusion of house, breaksbeats, dub and electronic club music. With more than two decades of experience as a DJ, producer and live performer, she remains one of the enduring figures of Berlin's electronic music scene, known for her deep musicality, genre-defying approach and unmistakable sound.
